Founded in 1866, St. Mark AME Zion Church has been a light of spiritual strength and a heart for the community in Athens, Tennessee. Rising from the hope of post-Civil War liberation, we have spent over fifteen decades fostering spiritual growth and charitable works. While based at 707 N Jackson Street Athens, TN 37303, we have grown alongside our city, remaining devoted to supporting our neighbors with love. We strive to honor our long history while embracing a bright future by renewing our sanctuary and community ties, ensuring our legacy of love remains a foundation of peace for every generation yet to come in this territory.
